SENIOR SEASON (2003)
LSU’s holder in 8 games after serving as the Tiger holder for the two previous seasons … Slowed to start season with a mysterious medical ailment that caused severe headaches … Couldn’t even get out of bed on some days … Sat out the entire fall camp and eventually missed the first 4 games of the year … Finally returned to action in win over Georgia after headaches disappeared … Played in 8 of LSU’s final 10 games … Rushed for a first down on a fake field goal attempt against Arkansas … Completed a 29-yard pass to David Jones on a fake field goal against Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl … The play nearly resulted in a touchdown, as Jones came up just shy of the endzone.
JUNIOR SEASON (2002)
Served as LSU’s holder on all placekicks for the second straight season … Had memorable moment in win over Florida as he raced 35 yards for a TD on a fake field goal by the Tigers to give LSU a 33-7 lead just eight seconds into the fourth quarter … Threw an incomplete pass on a fake field goal attempt against Ole Miss … Played in 12 games … Saw action on seven plays from scrimmage on offense during the season, all coming against Louisiana-Lafayette.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2001)
Played in all 12 regular season games for the Tigers as the holder on field goals and PATs … Held on every field goal attempt and PAT try during the regular season … Did not play in the Sugar Bowl … Saw action in three games at wide receiver – vs. Tulane, Florida and Mississippi State … Played a total of 19 snaps at wide receiver … Did not record any statistics.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2000)
Played in two games for the Tigers – Western Carolina and Kentucky … Did not record any statistics.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was named second team All-District in 1998 and 1999 … Nominated the team captain his senior season … Played in only four games during his senior year … Made 18 catches for 275 yards, including five touchdowns … Led team to the 1997 and 1998 district championships … Was coached in high school by Wayne Grubb.

Full name is Blain Robert Bech … Born on April 15, 1980 in Slidell, La. … Parents are Malchom and Jenna Bech … Has three brothers – Martin, Malchom III and Brett and one sister – Brenna … Brenna was the first-ever signee for the LSU women’s soccer program in 1995 … Majoring in business administration … Brother Brett played football at LSU and also with the New Orleans Saints.
