The definition of a gritty, hard-nosed ballplayer who plays the game with great enthusiasm … played four seasons (2019-22) at LSU and earned his college degree (interdisciplinary studies) before transferring to the University of Houston for a fifth season … played every position on the field during his LSU career, with the exception of pitcher … appeared in 136 career games (65 starts), batting .190 (48-for-252) with eight doubles, 10 homers, 41 RBI, 61 runs and 13 stolen bases … the son of former LSU player and assistant coach and current Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco.
2022 Season
Played in 34 games (nine starts), batting .128 (5-for-39) with one double, four RBI, 12 runs and three steals … provided a pair of two-out RBI singles in LSU’s May 8 win at Alabama.
2021 Season
Played in 50 games (32 starts), batting .246 (29-for-118) with three doubles, seven homers, 21 RBI, 24 runs and seven steals … started 17 games at second base, eight in center field and seven at shortstop … 4-for-15 in NCAA Eugene Regional with two doubles, one homer, four RBI and three runs scored … blasted a two-run homer in sixth inning of regional championship win over Oregon (June 7), giving LSU a 6-5 lead … two-out, two-run double in the third inning of regional win over Central Connecticut, tying the game at 5-5 … collected one homer, one double, three RBI and four runs in Alabama series (May 14-16) … homered twice in a three-game span – a two-run blast vs. Arkansas (May 1) and a two-run shot vs. Southern (May 3) … started at second base in all three games of series at Ole Miss (April 22-24) and contributed three singles, three RBI and one run scored … 2-for-3 with two HRs, two RBI, three runs, and one steal vs. Nicholls (Feb. 27).
2020 Season
Played in 13 games (eight starts), collecting one double, two RBI, seven walks and nine runs … all eight of his starts were in left field … doubled and scored two runs in LSU’s March 3 win over Southeastern Louisiana.
2019 Season
Played in 39 games (16 starts), batting .176 (12-for-68) with three doubles, three homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs … started in six games at first base, five games at designated hitter, four games at third base and one game at second base … scored game-winning run from second base on a wild pitch and error versus Auburn in SEC Tournament (May 23), giving LSU a walk-off victory in the bottom of the ninth inning … in his first plate appearance against his Dad’s (Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco) team (May 3), Drew launched a pinch-hit solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning of LSU’s 8-3 win … during a nine-game stretch from April 18-May 7, batted .350 (7-for-20) with two doubles, two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored … 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and two runs versus Lamar (April 23) … belted his first career collegiate home run on February 17 versus Air Force.
Prior to LSU
A four-time all-state selection at Oxford High School, where he led his team to two state championships … voted the 2018 Player of the Year in Class 5A … batted .409 in 2018 with seven doubles, one triple, six homers, 24 RBI, 31 runs scored and a .554 on-base percentage … posted a four-year career batting average of .352 in 138 games with 33 doubles, three triples, 20 homers, 147 runs and 100 RBI … graduated from Oxford High School with honors … also played football (running back) and basketball at Oxford High … played in the summer of 2018 for the Danville (Ill.) Dans in the Prospect League, a collegiate summer league where he produced 11 doubles, three triples, five homers, 24 RBI, 10 steals and 30 runs scored.
