Played three seasons at LSU (2020-22) and was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays … signed with Toronto in the summer of 2022 … played and started in 133 career games at LSU, batting .301 (156-for-519) with 31 doubles, two triples, 30 homers, 124 RBI, 104 runs and nine stolen bases … has the tools to be an all-around player in every phase of the game – on defense, with the bat, and running the bases … a hard-nosed player with a high level of competitiveness and grit … made the All-Star team in the summer of 2019 in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League as a graduated high school senior, which is very rare … his power is continuing to develop and he combines it with outstanding bat control skills … was also selected in the 39th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers.

Started 59 games, primarily at second base, and batted .298 (71-for-238) with 19 doubles, 15 homers, 57 RBI, 56 runs and four steals … finished No. 5 in the SEC in doubles with 19 … named to the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional All-Tournament team after hitting a team-high .444 (8-for-18) with three homers, six RBI and seven runs … did not play in the SEC Tournament due to an injury to his left shoulder … blasted two homers and drove in three runs in May 19 win at Vanderbilt, marking his second career two-homer game (his first two-homer game came on March 13, 2021, vs. UT San Antonio) … launched a walk-off two-run HR in bottom of the ninth inning vs. Georgia (May 1), lifting LSU to a 4-3 win … lined walk-off RBI single in bottom of 10th inning vs. Missouri (April 22), lifting LSU to a 4-3 win … 6-for-15 in Auburn series (March 31-April 2) with two doubles, one homer, two RBI and four runs … hit .385 (5-for-13) in Texas A&M series (March 25-27) with three doubles, one homer and four RBI … named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on February 21 after leading the Tigers to a season-opening three-game sweep of Maine; Doughty was also voted as one of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Players of the Week … he hit .571 (8-for-14) with three 2B, two HR and 12 RBI vs. Maine.

2021 Season
Played in 58 games (58 starts), batting .308 (70-for-227) with 11 doubles, two triples, 13 homers, 55 RBI and 41 runs scored … started 51 games at third base and seven games at second base … batted .346 (9-for-26) in LSU’s seven NCAA Tournament games with two doubles, one homer, two RBI and six runs … he was 5-for-18 in the NCAA Eugene Regional with two doubles, one RBI and four runs, including 3-for-4 in the regional championship game win over Oregon with two doubles and two runs scored … Doughty led LSU to a crucial series win at Texas A&M May 20-22, batting .333 (5-for-15) with one double, one homer, six RBI and three runs scored … in the Tigers’ Game 2 win over the Aggies, Doughty doubled, homered and collected five RBI; his two-out, three-run homer in the fifth inning erased a 6-3 deficit and the game remained tied at 6-6 until the top of the 13th, when Doughty’s two-run double highlighted a six-run outburst in the 12-6 LSU victory that clinched a berth in the SEC Tournament … his three-run homer in the first inning May 1 versus Arkansas gave LSU a lead it would not relinquish in a 5-4 win … 4-for-5 vs. McNeese State (April 6) with two doubles and four RBI … named National and SEC Player of the Week on March 15, as he collected five home runs, six runs scored and 12 RBI in leading LSU to five wins in five games vs. Texas Southern, New Orleans and UTSA … he hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning on March 12 versus UTSA to erase a 7-4 deficit and extend the game into the 11th inning; LSU went on to post a 10-9 victory in 13 innings … launched a two-run, two-out, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against Youngstown State on Feb. 26.

2020 Season
Started in 16 of LSU’s 17 games (14 at second base, one at third base, one at DH), batting .278 (15-for-54) with one double, two homers, 12 RBI, seven runs and four stolen bases … hit .500 (9-for-18) in the Tigers’ final five games of the season with one homer, seven RBI and four runs … 3-for-4 with one RBI vs. South Alabama on March 11 … 3-for-3 with three RBI vs. UMass Lowell on March 6 … 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI vs. Southeastern Louisiana on March 3 … launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning of the season opener versus Indiana (Feb. 14), becoming the first LSU player to homer in his first career collegiate at-bat since Beau Didier accomplished the feat against Villanova in 2009.

Ranked as the No. 35 player in the nation by Prep Baseball Report and the No. 42 player in the nation by Perfect Game … voted the 2019 Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and a 2019 Collegiate Baseball All-American … has international experience with the Team USA 18U, 17U and 15U teams; played in the World Baseball Classic in Japan in 2017 … batted .505 in his senior season at Denham Springs High with 48 hits, six homers, 10 doubles, four triples, 27 RBI, 38 runs scored and 15 stolen bases … also pitched as a senior and recorded two wins and three saves with a 1.17 ERA … a .418 career hitter in high school with 179 hits, 42 doubles, 14 triples, nine homers, 133 runs, 105 RBI and 65 stolen bases … a 2019 and 2018 Preseason All-America selection by Perfect Game and by Collegiate Baseball … voted first-team All-State, All-Metro, All-Parish and All-District at shortstop in his sophomore, junior and senior years … earned first-team All-Metro, All-Parish and All-District honors as a centerfielder in his freshman season … the 2019 and 2017 district outstanding offensive player and the 2018 Gold Glove winner for the district … voted the 2018 MVP in Livingston Parish … also played football in high school as a wide receiver.

Full name is Cade Joseph Doughty … parents are Richard and Jennifer Doughty, both LSU graduates … Cade is the younger brother of former LSU catcher Braden Doughty (2018-21) and the son of former LSU catcher Richard Doughty, who played for the Tigers in 1989 … Richard Doughty now works as a healthcare executive … has three other siblings – Bryce, Wesleigh and Gracie … Bryce Doughty is a former member of the LSU Tiger Band who is now serving in the U.S. Coast Guard … great-grandfather, Frank Doughty, is an LSU graduate who played basketball for the Tigers in 1937 … all four of Cade’s grandparents are also LSU grads … on attending LSU: “It has always been my dream to play baseball at LSU. I’m excited to be a fourth-generation LSU student and a third-generation LSU baseball player” … majoring in sport administration at LSU … born March 26, 2001, in Baton Rouge, La.
