Made 33 career appearances at LSU, posting an 11-6 record and a 4.56 ERA in 165.2 innings with 27 walks and 126 strikeouts … signed a free-agent contract with the Minnesota Twins at the end of the 2021 season … graduated from LSU in the spring of 2021 with a degree in sport administration … Pitcher with the look of a pro prospect … has excellent mound presence and commands three pitches for strikes, including a low 90s fastball … pitched effectively for LSU in 2018, primarily as a midweek starter, and earned Freshman All-America recognition from Collegiate Baseball newspaper … missed the 2019 season with a shoulder injury, but returned to work as a weekend starter on the mound in 2020 and worked as the Tigers’ No. 2 starter for most of the 2021 season.

2020 Season
Worked as the Tigers’ Game 3 weekend starter during the shortened season, posting a 1-2 mark and a 3.55 ERA in 25.1 innings with three walks and 20 strikeouts … limited opponents to a .178 batting average … suffered a hard-luck loss to Oklahoma (March 1) at Minute Maid Park in Houston after turning in a brilliant effort … Labas worked eight innings and had a no-hitter through the first seven innings, but he gave up a lead-off home run in the eighth that proved to be the difference in the 1-0 OU win … Labas retired the next three batters in the eighth after the homer and completed the eight-inning outing with no walks and seven strikeouts on 90 pitches … Labas became the first LSU pitcher to fire seven straight hitless innings since 2017, when Jared Poche’ threw a complete-game seven-inning no-hitter against Army … Labas earned his first win of the 2020 season on Feb. 23 with a quality start against Eastern Kentucky … pitched seven innings versus EKU, limiting the Colonels to two runs on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

2018 Season
Pitched in 13 games (10 starts), recording a 6-2 mark and a 3.48 ERA in 54.1 innings with seven walks and 32 strikeouts … named SEC Freshman of the Week on May 7 after defeating fourth-ranked Arkansas – the SEC’s No. 1 offensive team – on May 6 with a brilliant effort, limiting the Razorbacks to one run on four hits in six innings with no walks and three strikeouts … the outing marked the first career start in an SEC game for Labas, who retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced, and the only run he allowed was a solo homer by Arkansas leftfielder Heston Kjerstad in the fifth inning … fired a complete-game shutout against Lamar (April 24), allowing just six hits with one walk and a career-best nine strikeouts … became the first LSU pitcher to throw a nine-inning shutout since Alex Lange vs. Auburn on May 11, 2017 … posted win over Louisiana Tech (April 10), firing six shutout innings and allowing two hits with no BB and no strikeouts … defeated Nicholls on April 3, limiting the Colonels to one run on five hits in five innings with one walk and two strikeouts … credited with relief win versus Tulane on March 21, allowing four runs on six hits in four innings with two strikeouts, but blanking the Green Wave in the final two innings of the outing … recorded a brilliant outing vs. South Alabama on March 14, blanking the Jaguars through six innings with five hits, no walks and five strikeouts.

Posted a 9-0 record in 2017 as a high school senior with a 0.50 ERA in 65 innings, firing 82 strikeouts with only 11 walks … recorded a 25-4 win-loss mark during his high school career … named to the Perfect Game Florida All Region 1st Team … rated among Baseball America’s Top 400 prospects in the nation … received 2016 & 2017 first-team all-First Coast recognition … helped lead his high school team to the 2015 Class 4A state championship as a sophomore.
