A very steady, fast-twitch defensive shortstop and a physical hitter with a lot of thump in the bat … played for LSU during the 2016 season as a true freshman and elected to transfer to a junior college in the summer of ’16 … garnered a lot of attention in high school from the pro scouts and turned down a significant signing bonus from the Detroit Tigers to attend LSU.

Played in 27 games (four starts), batting .111 (2-for-18) with one RBI, three walks and one run scored … 2-for-4 with one walk, one RBI and one run scored versus Grambling on April 13.
Prior to LSU
Selected in the 32nd round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers … earned 2015 First-Team All-State honors and was named the Kanawa Valley Player of the Year … posted a .425 batting average, 20 stolen bases and a .557 on-base average in 2015 as a senior at Hurricane HS while committing just one error at shortstop …a four-year starter at shortstop, he played in 126 games, scoring 134 runs and driving in 89; also stole 43 bases in 50 attempts … struck out only 50 times in 488 plate appearances during his high school career … led Hurricane High to the 2014 baseball state championship … scored a school-record 1,506 career points as a Hurricane HS basketball player.
