Talented pitcher who enjoyed an excellent true freshman season in 2022, pitching as LSU’s Game 3 starter in the final nine SEC regular-season weekends.
2023 Season
Pitched in 19 games as a reliever, posting no decisions and a 7.97 ERA in 20.1 innings with seven walks and 21 strikeouts … recorded three strikeouts in 1.0 inning vs. Florida in Game 2 of the College World Series Finals (June 25) … worked 2.0 innings versus Grambling (March 28), allowing one run on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts, a mark that tied his career high for Ks … a member of the 2023 SEC Academic Honor Roll as a sport administration major.
2022 Season
Pitched in 18 games (11 starts), posting a 1-1 record and a 5.12 ERA in 38.2 innings with 12 walks and 26 strikeouts … worked as the Game 3 starter in the Tigers’ final nine SEC regular-season weekends … did not issue a walk in his final seven appearances of the year (13.1 innings) … earned his first collegiate win on May 10 vs. Southeastern La., working the first three innings of the game and allowing one run on two hits with no walks and two strikeouts … delivered the longest outing of his collegiate career on May 1, working the first 4.2 innings versus Georgia; Dutton limited the Bulldogs to two runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts, and he fired 65 total pitches … provided an excellent start to Game 3 at Arkansas (April 16), pitching four innings and allowing one run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts … started Game 3 at Mississippi State (April 10), limiting the Bulldogs to one run on four hits in three innings with no walks and one strikeout … made the first start of his collegiate career on March 27 at Florida and blanked the Gators in a 3.2-inning outing, allowing one hit with one strikeout … pitched effectively against Texas A&M with two appearances in the series (March 18 and 20); Dutton worked a total of three innings in the series, allowing just one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Attended Westbrook Christian High School … named the 2021 Class 2A Player of the Year … helped Westbrook Christian to their first state championship in 2021 … selected First-Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball … a member of the USA Baseball 2019 16U National Team Development Program … tied the Alabama High School Athletic Association record for no-hitters in a season with four … tossed a perfect game in his senior season … finished his senior season 9-0 with a 0.40 ERA and 117 strikeouts, allowing 14 hits and five walks over 53 innings … at the plate, Dutton hit .515 in his senior season with a .612 on base percentage, tallying four home runs and 39 RBI.
