MLB Draft: 17th Round in 2005 (Minnesota)

Started 32 games behind the plate for the Tigers in 2007 after playing in a reserve role in 2006 … one of the nation’s elite defensive catchers as a high school senior … solid frame with tremendous blocking ability and power … the 17th-round choice of the Minnesota Twins in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007)
Appeared in 36 games (32 starts), batting .200 (21-for-105) with seven doubles, one homer, 13 RBI and 10 runs … lined a crucial two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning of LSU’s 5-3 win at Arkansas (May 6); the double extended the Tigers’ lead from 3-2 to 5-2 … enjoyed a 3-for-4 outing with one double, one homer, three RBI and two runs vs. New Orleans (March 27) … also made three pitching appearances, allowing six earned run on nine hits in 3.2 innings with one walk and three strikeouts.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2006)
Appeared in 23 games (11 starts), batting .273 (12-for-44) with two doubles, one triple, eight RBI and seven runs … led LSU with two hits and first career triple against No. 1 Rice (5/16) … provided a key one-out RBI pinch hit single off of Arkansas all-SEC pitcher Nick Schmidt (4/28) in the seventh inning as the Tigers scored four runs and erased a 4-2 deficit en route to a 7-6 win … gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead with a two-run single vs. Southern (4/4) in the fourth inning … collected a season-high three hits and drove in three runs in the series finale vs. Temple (2/26) in his second career start.
