Outstanding left-handed pitcher who will work in the 88-92 mph range with a plus breaking ball that is a big swing-and-miss pitch … redshirted for the 2015 season due to a stress reaction in his left elbow; had surgery performed on the elbow in the fall of 2015 and was able to make his LSU debut in April 2016 … elected to transfer to another university after the 2016 season … selected in the 11th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by Toronto – was the third-highest drafted high school player that did not sign a pro contract … teammate of LSU catcher Michael Papierski in high school.
2016 Season
Made seven appearances (three starts), posting an 0-1 mark and a 7.56 ERA in 8.1 innings with four walks and 11 strikeouts … LSU’s starting pitcher in the championship game of the NCAA Regional vs. Rice (June 7) – he worked 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits with one walk and one strikeout … pitched the first two innings of LSU’s SEC Tournament win over Tennessee (May 24), allowing no runs on one hit with no walks and two strikeouts … made first appearance in an SEC game on May 21 versus Florida – pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit with one walk and three strikeouts … worked one shutout inning versus Northwestern State (May 17), allowing no hits with one strikeout … made LSU debut on April 12 versus McNeese State – worked 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on three hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Voted the 2014 Illinois Player of the Year as he struck out 114 batters in 62.1 innings of work during the season … posted school records of a 0.22 ERA and 10 wins in 2014 … led his team to Class 3A State Championship; allowed one unearned run and three hits in seven innings with 11 strikeouts in state title game … named to the Chicago Sun Times All-State team … also earned All-Area and All-Conference recognition during his career … maintained a cumulative 4.0 GPA at Lemont High School … also played basketball and golf during his high school athletic career.
