MLB Draft: 17th round in 2004 (Los Angeles Dodgers)

Excellent southpaw who came to LSU prior to last season and received a medical redshirt after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder … expected to contend this season for a berth in the LSU starting rotation … transferred to LSU after one season at Auburn and one season at Chipola College … the 17th-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft … was also selected in the draft as a high school senior by the Dodgers in the 38th round.

JUNIOR COLLEGE
Competed at Chipola Community College in Marianna, Fla. in 2004 after pitching in 2003 for Auburn … worked 14 innings for Auburn in a relief role during the ’03 season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Ala. … as a senior, posted a 9-1 mark with a 0.91 ERA and 158 strikeouts in 78 innings … hurled three no hitters and was named the 6A state player of the year … earned Super 12 all-state honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
