Hard-nosed player who started 150 games for the Tigers in the outfield during his career … made an immediate impact in the LSU outfield in 2003, starting 42 games in left field and 19 games in center field … was redshirted in 2004 before starting 35 games (34 in CF, one in LF) for LSU in 2005 … started 37 games in left field and 17 in center field during the 2006 season … a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll as a mass communication major … earned his LSU degree in May, 2006.
SENIOR SEASON (2006)
Appeared in all 59 LSU games (54 starts), batting .277 (57-for-206) with 10 doubles, five triples, one homer, 29 RBI, 33 runs and a team-high nine steals … collected one double and three RBI in three SEC Tournament games (May 24-26) … 3-for-5 in win at Florida (May 18) with two RBI and one run scored … for the entire Florida series (May 18-20), batted .462 (6-for-13) with three RBI and three runs scored … named SEC Player of the Week on Feb. 27 as he batted .533 (8-for-15) in four games vs. Southeastern Louisiana and Temple, collecting two doubles, two triples, six RBI and three runs.
JUNIOR SEASON (2005)
After redshirting in 2004, returned to the Tigers’ lineup to start in 35 games – 34 in center field and one in left field … played in a total of 53 games and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage (97 chances) … batted .264 (38-for-144) with one double, two triples, two homers, 13 RBI and 28 runs … hit .316 (18-for-57) in SEC regular-season games with one homer, four RBI and nine runs … 3-for-8 in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional with one RBI and three runs … collected two singles in eight at-bats in the SEC Tournament … launched home run to lead off the game at Mississippi State (May 21) … also homered in LSU season opener vs. Nicholls State (Feb. 12); 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs in that contest … tied his career high with three hits vs. Tulane (March 8).
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2003)
Played in 63 games (61 starts), batting .290 (76-for-262) with eight doubles, three triples, one homer, 33 RBI and 46 runs … served as the Tigers’ lead-off hitter in 51 games … hit .321 (42-for-131) in SEC regular-season games with five doubles, two triples, one homer, 14 RBI and 22 runs … collected three hits in a game on six occasions … 0-for-3 with a walk and one RBI in the College World Series … 3-for-11 in the NCAA Super Regional versus Baylor with one RBI and four runs scored … 3-for-4 in Game 3 of the super regional (June 8) with three runs scored … 3-for-14 in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional with one RBI and three runs … 4-for-17 in the SEC Tournament with one double, three RBI and four runs … posted a 10-game hitting streak from April 19-May 2, batting .326 (14-for-43) during the streak … hit .429 (6-for-14) in the Tennessee series (April 25-27) with five RBI … launched first career homer – a solo shot – in Game 1 of the Tennessee series (April 25) … batted .467 (7-for-15) in Georgia series (March 21-23).
FRESHMAN SEASON (2002 at Shelton State Community College)
Played one season at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Ala… . batted .343 in 2002 with 15 doubles, three triples, four homers, 38 RBI and 51 runs … a Dean’s List student.
HIGH SCHOOL
A pitcher and outfielder at Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn… . earned all-state and district MVP honors.

Full name is Bruce Joseph Sprowl Jr… . parents are Bruce Sprowl Sr. and Kimberly Wilson … has one younger brother, Brian, an infielder at Tennessee Tech … his uncle, Bobby Sprowl, is a former major league pitcher with the Boston Red Sox (1978) and Houston Astros (1979-81) … hobbies include snowboarding … credits his parents with having the greatest influence upon his athletic career … one of the top players in the summer of 2004 in the Valley Baseball League, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; he was fifth in the league in hitting with a .340 (58-for-200) average, and he collected 13 doubles, six homers, 21 RBI and 21 stolen bases … born January 21, 1983.
