A polished left-handed pitcher who worked as one of the top relievers for LSU for two seasons (2012-13) … signed a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Royals in June 2013 … played his freshman season at Nicholls State before transferring to Delgado Community College in New Orleans; joined the LSU program in August 2011.

Appeared in 21 games (six starts), posting a 3-0 mark and a 2.70 ERA in 50 innings with 25 walks and 37 strikeouts … strong relief outing in College World Series vs. North Carolina (June 18), limiting the Tar Heels to one run on five hits in 4.1 innings with two walks and three strikeouts … voted to NCAA Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament Team after defeating Louisiana-Lafayette (June 2) in regional championship game – pitched a career-high 5.1 innings and limited Cajuns to one unearned run on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts … LSU starting pitcher in SEC Tournament championship game vs. Vanderbilt (May 26); allowed two runs on five hits in four innings with one walk and one strikeout, firing 69 pitches … worked four shutout relief innings vs. South Carolina (April 28), allowing just one hit with one walk and two strikeouts … two shutout innings vs. Tulane (April 24), allowing one hit with one walk and two strikeouts … recorded career-best seven strikeouts in three-inning relief outing vs. Southern (April 10); allowed no runs on one hit with one BB … excellent relief win at Missouri on March 31 — fired 4.1 scoreless and hitless innings, allowing two walks with three strikeouts … solid relief outing March 15 at Mississippi State – fired two shutout innings and allowed one hit with two walks and one strikeout … worked 4.2 innings vs. BYU (Feb. 23), allowing one run on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Made 22 relief appearances, recording a 4-0 mark with a 3.49 ERA in 28.1 innings with 12 walks and 26 strikeouts … 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA in 12.2 SEC regular-season innings with three walks and 11 strikeouts … posted relief win over Tulane on May 1, allowing no earned runs on one hit in one inning with two strikeouts … relief win over Southeastern Louisiana (April 25), firing two shutout innings with no hits, one walk and four strikeouts … named SEC Pitcher of the Week on April 9 after posting two wins in two relief appearances, including a brilliant outing against Florida on April 7 … worked six innings in two appearances, allowing one run on two hits with three walks and seven strikeouts … posted the relief win over Florida April 7 in the Tigers’ series-clinching win, allowing just one hit in four scoreless innings with one walk and five strikeouts … earned first career LSU win April 3 vs. Louisiana College – allowed one run on two hits in two innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Posted an 8-3 mark at Delgado CC in 2011 with 80 strikeouts and a 3.43 ERA … worked six innings in a combined no-hitter (seven-inning game) in August 2011 for the Louisiana team at a summer league tournament in Johnstown, Pa.; he recorded eight strikeouts and two walks in the outing … posted 350 strikeouts and a 1.80 ERA during his career at Thibodaux (La.) High School, where he earned all-State and all-District recognition … also played outfield and first base in high school.
