2008 SEC Academic Honor Roll
Crafty left-hander who worked over 21 innings in two seasons at LSU, mostly as a reliever … was appointed undergraduate assistant coach by Paul Mainieri for the 2009 season … graduated from LSU in May 2009 with a kinesiology degree.
SENIOR SEASON (2008)
Appeared in one game, the April 2 contest versus Centenary … worked one scoreless inning against the Gents, allowing one hit … performed a valuable role over the latter portion of the season as a batting practice pitcher for LSU’s left-handed hitters; the Tigers’ hitters showed marked improvement down the stretch due to their workouts with Beerbohm on the mound.
JUNIOR SEASON (2007)
Appeared in 13 games (two starts), posting a 1-1 mark and a 9.74 ERA in 20.1 innings … earned first career LSU victory April 11 vs. Mississippi Valley State – worked one scoreless inning, allowing one hit with one K … longest outing of the season came on Feb. 25 vs. Central Florida – 4.0 IP, three earned runs on four hits with two walks and two Ks.
JUNIOR COLLEGE
Served as Delgado’s No. 1 pitcher in 2006 where he posted a 7-2 record … led Delgado to the junior college regional tournament … enjoyed an excellent freshman campaign in which he compiled an 8-2 mark on the mound … coached by Joe Scheuermann … American Legion ace for the New Orleans Boosters … helped the club reach the All-American Amateur Baseball Association tournament in Johnstown, Pa. … earned the win in the team’s opening game, allowing no earned runs on just four hits in 6.2 innings … Boosters ended up finishing third out of 16 teams in the tourney.
HIGH SCHOOL
Three-year letterwinner at Shaw High School … earned all-district, all-Clarion Herald and all-Westbank honors … coached by Joey Latino.
