Ben Nippolt, who worked as the graduate assistant on LSU’s 2025 National Championship staff, was promoted to Assistant Director of Player Development – Position Players in the summer of 2025.

Nippolt, a 2024 LSU graduate, also earned an NCAA National Championship ring as a player, as he competed as a reserve infielder on LSU’s 2023 College World Series title team. He played two seasons (2023-24) at LSU, appearing in 76 games with 14 starts for teams that combined to win 97 games.

Nippolt was 2022 First-Team All-Atlantic 10 selection at VCU, appearing in 51 games (45 starts) and batting .308 with a .430 on-base percentage and a .407 slugging percentage. He recorded 53 hits, including nine doubles, a triple, two home runs, 48 runs and 31 RBI.

He batted .318 in 2021 at Des Moines (Iowa) Area CC with one homer, 45 RBI, 48 runs, 12 steals, 39 walks and only 19 strikeouts, earning JUCO All-Conference recognition.

Born in Minneapolis, Minn., Nippolt was an all-state performer at Mounds Park Academy in Maplewood, Minn. He earned all-conference recognition in all four high school seasons and was voted the 2019 District MVP.
