TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON (1999): A second team Freshman All-America choice in 1999 by The Sporting News … Emerged as a rising star on the defensive side of the ball … Made his first career start in the 4th game of the year and did not lose the position, starting the final 8 games of the year … Finished the season with 68 tackles, 4 for a loss (-8) yards, 3 pass breakups, 5 quarterback hurries and 1 fumble recovery … Had his best game of the year at Alabama … He made 16 tackles, including 10 solo stops … Made double-digit tackles at Georgia with 10 … Named to the Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC Team, Knoxville News-Sentinel SEC All-Freshman Team and the Sporting News Freshman All-America Team.
