As Coordinator of Athletics Administration, Williams helps coordinate and execute special events for Athletics staff. She assists Executive Deputy Athletic Directors and Senior Associate Athletic Directors in scheduling and organizing meetings and appointments while also handling the day-to-day administrative details of calendar, travel, finances, and confidential matters. She serves as the LSU Student Code of Conduct director for Athletics working closely with all sports and campus, particularly the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability and the Office of Residential Life. Because of her basketball knowledge and passion, Williams is the radio color analyst for the 2023 National Championship Women’s Basketball program on the LSU Sports Radio Network.

During her six-year stint (2015-2021) as Director of Basketball Operations, Shaeeta oversaw all day-to-day aspects of the Women’s Basketball program as well as assisted with coordinating on-campus recruiting, mentoring student-athletes and student-mangers, managing the program’s budget, and directing summer camps. Williams came to LSU after spending two seasons as the head girls’ basketball coach and girls’ strength and conditioning coach of her alma mater, Brusly High School.

Williams’ resumé includes having served for 2007-2012 as Women’s Basketball Special Assistant at the University of Texas under her former Duke University coach, Gail Goestenkors. She aided in the day-to-day program responsibilities, directed summer camps, and served as the liaison for community relations. Williams started her work relationship with Goestenkors when she returned to the Blue Devil program in 2001 as an assistant coach then transitioned to a special assistant (2002-07) responsible for all facets of the program’s success (three Final Fours, two Elite Eights, and one Sweet Sixteens). Upon graduation from Duke, Williams entered collegiate coaching as assistant women’s basketball coach at DePaul (1998-99) before returning to her alma mater, Brusly High School, to teach and coach girls’ basketball for 1999-2001.

Williams (under maiden name Shaeeta Brown), a four-year basketball letterwinner and team captain at Duke University from 1993-98, was a member of Goestenkors’ first recruiting class. During her playing days, the Blue Devils began their string of NCAA Championship success, starting in 1995 with their first NCAA berth under the direction of Goestenkors. Williams, a 1998 graduate with a BA in Mathematics, was the recipient of the Blue Devil Club Student-Athlete of the Year award and was a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection at Duke.

As a prep student-athlete, Williams earned All-State and All-District honors in basketball, volleyball, track, and softball for four years. She helped lead the 1992 Brusly Softball team to a state championship as well as earned a state track championship in the 4x100m.

Williams is a fitness entrepreneur and instructor of Coach Sha’s Bootcamp in her West Baton Rouge community since July 2013. She and her husband, Barnell, have a son, Seth, and reside in Addis.
