John Daniel joined LSU as the Associate Athletics Director / Administration in October of 2019 after serving as the Associate AD for Business and Finance at TCU for more than three years. At LSU, Daniel serves as the sport supervisor for men’s and women’s swimming and diving and beach volleyball, has departmental oversight of Athletics IT, and manages special projects in coordination with athletics senior staff members.

Prior to LSU, Daniel spent over three years as the Associate AD for Business and Finance at TCU. There, he was responsible for helping to overhaul the annual budgeting process for all sports and departments, implementing revenue tracking processes, developing departmental benchmark reports, and writing policy and procedure manuals for the department.

During this time, he helped the department in making significant operational strides by transitioning to a prepaid debit card program for travel per diem, partnering with an on-campus travel management company, and starting a travel card program for the billing of airfare and team travel hotels. In addition, he managed external reporting for the department and oversaw the annual audit.

From 2012-16, Daniel worked at Texas A&M University as the Director of Financial Reporting. He oversaw athletics procurement as well as managing the departmental reporting for the EADA and NCAA financial reports. He served as the athletics budgeting liaison with the 12th Man Foundation on several capital projects, including the design and construction of the 12th Man Productions studio at Kyle Field, the renovation of the Volleyball locker room coaches offices, and the outfitting of the West Campus Player Development Center with new strength and conditioning equipment.

Daniel worked at the University of Maryland in the business office after obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management (2010) and Master’s Degree in Sports Management (2011) from LSU. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Ole Miss. Daniel and his wife Arleen are proud parents to twins Dorothy and Evelyn.
