In the Fall of 2016, he decided to pursue a second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling as an opportunity to advocate for individuals who struggle with challenges that arise in their everyday life. It is through this work that has he found a passion for helping people resolve complex issues and navigate various stressors they encounter.

In his professional capacity with LSU Athletics, Eddie serves as the Director of Training and Leadership Development. In this position Eddie provides departmentwide comprehensive education and training to address an array of educational and wellness initiatives to include, but not limited to: healthy relationships, leadership development, bystander intervention, resilience, and violence prevention.

Eddie has previously served as the Senior Case Manager and Threat Assessment Specialist at LSU and the Associate Director of the Care Area at the University of Florida.

It is through these roles that Eddie has worked to identify the most effective intervention strategies to address difficult situations such as depression and anxiety, substance use, life management difficulties, as well as significant changes in an individual’s mental health.

Eddie’s focus areas are primarily reliant on trust, empowerment, collaboration, empathic understanding, and, most importantly, the formation of a real partnership.

He has received professional trainings and certifications from:
• National Board for Certified Counselors
• Everyday Parenting Program
• Harvard Kennedy School – Crisis Leadership in Higher Education
• National Association of Behavior Intervention Teams – Threat Assessment
• Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education

In his free time, he enjoys experiencing Louisiana’s culture, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and the arts.
