Very talented hurler that has a fastball with exploding life, and it sits in the low-to-mid ‘90s … has worked hard to develop his off-speed pitches … has worked both as a front-line starting pitcher and a late-inning reliever during his career … has made 55 career appearances at LSU, including 27 starts, and has posted a 12-6 career mark and a 4.17 ERA in 175.0 innings with 74 walks, 229 strikeouts and a .203 opponent batting average … a player that would certainly have had his name called early in a normal 2020 draft year … a member of the 2022 and 2023 SEC Academic Honor Roll as a sport administration major … scheduled to graduate from LSU in the summer of 2023.

2023 Season
• Posted a 7-0 record on the year with a 4.35 ERA in 91.0 innings, recording 37 walks and 120 Ks … finished No. 4 in the SEC in strikeouts (120) and No. 5 in the league in opponent batting avg. (.208) … his strikeouts total (120) placed him No. 12 in the nation.
• Voted to the College World Series All-Tournament Team as he made two starts and recorded 27 strikeouts in 13.0 innings while limiting opponents to five runs on seven hits and a .156 batting average … recorded a brilliant outing in Game 1 of the College World Series Finals vs. Florida (June 24), working 8.0 innings and allowing three runs on eight hits with one walk and a career-high 17 strikeouts … the 17 Ks represented the most by an LSU pitcher in a CWS game and it tied the CWS record for most strikeouts in a game prior to extra innings
• Starting pitcher in LSU’s CWS game on June 19 vs. Wake Forest, limiting the Deacons to two runs on two hits in 5.0 innings with four walks … Floyd recorded 10 strikeouts in the outing
• Started Game 2 of the NCAA Super Regional vs. Kentucky (June 11), pitching 3.1 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts
• Started LSU’s winners’ bracket game in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional vs. Oregon State (June 4), working 3.0 innings and allowing one run on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts before a rain delay ended his outing
• Solid outing in SEC Tournament vs. Texas A&M (May 26) – 5.0 IP, one run on three hits, one walk and seven strikeouts
• Defeated Georgia on May 19, limiting the Bulldogs to four runs on five hits in 7.0 innings with one walks and seven Ks
• Posted 10 strikeouts on May 13 versus Mississippi State … Floyd worked 6.0 innings and limited the Bulldogs to just one run on five hits with one walk and 10 Ks
• Recorded nine strikeouts in 3.2 innings at Auburn (May 6)
• Defeated Ole Miss on April 22 in the longest outing of his career, as he worked 8.1 innings to post the win over the Rebels … Floyd limited Ole Miss to three runs on five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts … Floyd threw 111 pitches, including 76 for strikes, to improve to 6-0 on the year
• Posted win over Tennessee (March 31), limiting the Vols to four runs on six hits in 5.0 innings with one walk and five strikeouts
• Defeated Arkansas in the first game of March 25 doubleheader vs. Arkansas, working 6.1 innings and limiting the Razorbacks to one earned run on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts
• Posted win over Samford (March 11) by pitching 5.0 scoreless and hitless innings with three walks and six Ks
• Defeated Central Connecticut State on March 4 in his first start of the year … Floyd limited the Blue Devils to one run on three hits in 5.2 innings with one walk and six strikeouts
• Earned his first save of the season on Feb. 24 vs. Kansas State in the Round Rock Classic … Floyd worked the final three innings and limited the Wildcats to one earned run on two hits with one walk and five strikeouts

2022 Season
Made 16 appearances (10 starts), recording a 5-4 mark and a 3.77 ERA in 59.2 innings with 23 walks and 70 strikeouts … limited opponents to a .199 cumulative batting average … posted a 1-0 record and a 2.45 ERA in five SEC appearances (two starts), recording four walks and 17 strikeouts in 18.1 innings … started LSU’s second game of the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional (June 4) and worked 6.0 innings versus Southern Miss, allowing four runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts; LSU won the game, 7-6, in 10 innings … made his second career SEC start on May 20 at Vanderbilt and defeated the Commodores by working 5.1 innings and allowing just one run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts; the seven Ks represented a career high for Floyd in an SEC game … in his three relief appearances prior to the May 20 start at Vanderbilt, he worked 12.1 innings and allowed just two runs on five hits with three walks and 12 strikeouts … outstanding relief effort in May 13 game versus Ole Miss, limiting the Rebels to one run on two hits in six innings with two walks and three strikeouts … strong relief outing May 7 at Alabama, allowing one run on two hits in 4.0 innings with one walk and five strikeouts … excellent relief outing vs. Nicholls (May 3), as he pitched 2.1 scoreless innings with one hit, no walks and four strikeouts … earned the win as a starter vs. UL Lafayette (April 19), limiting the Cajuns to two runs on four hits in 5.0 innings with no walks and eight strikeouts, tying his career high for Ks … allowed just one unearned run on two hits in 6.0 innings in March 12 win over Bethune-Cookman; Floyd recorded two walks, and he recorded eight strikeouts.

2021 Season
Made 20 relief appearances, posting a 0-2 record and a 4.44 ERA in 24.1 innings with 14 walks, 39 strikeouts and an .195 opponent batting average … outstanding relief outing at Texas A&M (May 21), allowing no runs on one hit in in 3.2 innings with no walks and four strikeouts … worked final two innings of LSU’s win over Alabama on May 16, allowing one run on one hit with no walks and three strikeouts … pitched 2.1 relief innings in March 27 game at Tennessee, allowing one run on two hits with one walk and three strikeouts … excellent SEC debut vs. Miss. State (March 21), striking out the first four batters he faced – all three hitters in the 7th inning and the first hitter of the 8th inning … 1.1 scoreless innings vs. Southeastern Louisiana (March 16) with one hits, one walk and three strikeouts … also recorded three strikeouts in one relief inning vs. UTSA (March 13) … worked two scoreless innings vs. Oral Roberts (March 6), allowing no hits, one walk and four strikeouts.

The No. 28 ranked player in the country by Perfect Game and Perfect Game’s seventh-highest ranked player to go to college … rated by Perfect Game as the No. 1 ranked RHP in the state of Georgia … voted the 2019 Class 7AA Georgia Player of the Year, and he earned first team all-state honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019 … posted a 3-0 mark in the shortened 2020 season with 19 inning pitched, 40 strikeouts, a 0.00 ERA and a .018 opponent batting average … recorded a 10-1 mark in 2019 – 61 IP, 127 strikeouts, 0.57 ERA, .058 opponent batting average … earned first-team all-state honors in each of his four years in high school … also a three-year letterman in basketball at Rockmart High as a shooting guard.
