At LSU (2023)
• The winning pitcher in the 2023 College World Series Championship Game, as he posted the victory over Florida to clinch LSU’s seventh NCAA title … limited the Gators to two runs on two hits in 6.0 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts
• Recorded a 2-1 mark in three CWS appearances, posting a 2.25 ERA, 13 strikeouts and a .146 opponent batting average in 12.0 innings
• Performed brilliantly in the 2023 postseason, recording three NCAA Tournament wins in four appearances with a 3.71 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 17.0 innings
• Posted an 8-3 overall record and three saves on the year with 84 strikeouts in 63.1 innings
• Posted relief victory in CWS semifinal game vs. Wake Forest (June 22) that advanced LSU into the CWS Championship Series … worked the final three innings of the 11-inning game, allowing no runs on one hit with one walk and one strikeout
• Voted to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament Team after earning a relief win over Oregon State (June 4), limiting the Beavers to four runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings with three walks and a career-best 12 strikeouts
• Earned SEC Tournament win over South Carolina (May 24), allowing three runs on four hits in 5.1 innings with two walks and four strikeouts
• Excellent relief effort to earn win at Georgia (May 18), working 5.0 innings and limiting UGA to two runs on three hits with one walk and five strikeouts
• Earned save May 16 vs. McNeese, recording final out with bases loaded to preserve a 7-4 LSU win
• Picked up save at Auburn (May 5), retiring three straight batters in the ninth inning, including two strikeouts
• Earned first career LSU save in the Tigers’ April 29 win over Alabama, firing 1.2 scoreless innings with no hits, no walks and one strikeout
• Solid starting outing on April 25 vs. Nicholls, working 4.0 innings and allowing one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts
• Voted SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week and a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week on March 13 after posted two wins in two starts, working a total of 11 scoreless innings with three walks and 18 strikeouts … defeated Butler on March 6, firing six shutout innings with three hits, one walk and 11 strikeouts, just one strikeout shy of his career high
• Hurd posted a win over Samford on March 12, working five scoreless innings and limiting the Bulldogs to one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts
• Pitched 4.2 innings in starting role at Texas (Feb. 28), allowing no runs on three hits with three walks and four Ks
At UCLA (2022)
Made nine appearances – including six starts – in 2022 as a true freshman at UCLA, posting a 2-0 record with a 1.06 ERA, 10 walks and 48 strikeouts in 34 innings while limiting opponents to a .138 batting average … had 23 strikeouts in 10 innings over two outings against Omaha and Long Beach State in the first two starts of his career … posted a season-high 12 strikeouts in five innings against Long Beach State on March 1, as he and fellow pitcher Ethan Flanagan teamed up for a 19-strikeout one-hitter … On March 8, Hurd was named the Perfect Game/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Week and NCBWA National Co-Pitcher of the Week after a standout pair of outings against Long Beach State and Oklahoma (combined: 6.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 15 K) … allowed one earned run or fewer in all nine of his appearances in 2022 … named to the UCLA Director’s Honor Roll for fall and spring quarters.

The nation’s ninth-ranked pitcher and the No. 1 pitcher in the state of California as a senior at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. … was the top-ranked pitcher in California and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state … ranked nationally as the No. 9 right-handed pitcher and No. 32 overall prospect … two-time Preseason All-American … named to the Top Prospect Team at the 2020 Perfect Game National Showcase … played for the San Francisco Giants scout team in the 2020 WWBA World Championship … participated in the 2020 Area Code Games and in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Donates money he receives through LSU’s NIL program to the Baton Rouge Food Bank … Hurd’s donations have provided 250,000 pounds of items for the food bank.
