Spent two seasons at Meridian (Miss.) Community College … posted a 5-4 record with a 2.58 ERA in 2007; in 54.1 innings, he recorded 19 walks and 57 strikeouts and did not allow a home run … posted a 2-2 mark with a 2.44 ERA and two saves in 2006 … recorded 26 strikeouts and eight walks in 22 innings … also started 35 games at shortstop as a part of Meridian’s 2006 Mississippi state title team.
