SENIOR SEASON (2008)
Started all 13 games at left guard for the Tigers … A first team All-America pick by the Associated Press and a second team selection by the Walter Camp Foundation … Earned first-team All-SEC for the second straight year … Anchored an LSU offensive line that helped the Tiger backfield average 166.8 yards rushing per contest … Played a total of 889 snaps from scrimmage … Ranked second on team in knockdowns with 62 … Had best game of season in win over Georgia Tech in bowl game with eight knockdowns and a grade of 91% in 38-3 LSU victory … Played season-high 80 snaps in comeback win over Troy … Played every offensive snap from scrimmage in seven of LSU’s 13 games … Capped career by starting in 37 consecutive games, a streak that dated back to his sophomore season in 2006.

JUNIOR SEASON (2007)
Starter in all 14 games at left guard for the Tigers … Earned first-team All-SEC honors from both the AP and the SEC Coaches … Paved the way for an LSU rushing attack that rated second in the SEC and 11th nationally … Joined Ciron Black as the only players in school history to play more than 1,000 plays from scrimmage in a single season … Played a total of 1,030 snaps as a junior, one fewer than Black … Credited with 58 knockdown blocks and two pancake blocks … Recorded 11 knockdowns and a pancake block, both season highs, in the win over Tulane … Had eight knockdowns in the win over South Carolina … Played every offensive snap in games against South Carolina (69 plays), Florida (80), Kentucky (91), Auburn (68), Arkansas (101) and Tennessee (81).

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2006)
Started the last 10 games of the season on the offensive line … Got the nod at right guard twice and left guard eight times … Recorded 62 knockdown blocks and 22 pancake blocks … Played a total of 649 snaps from scrimmage … Didn’t miss a snap in four straight games (vs. Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas) … Recorded a season-high 17 knockdown blocks and four pancakes in the Tigers’ win over Tennessee … Contributed nine knockdowns vs. Alabama … Had a season-best five pancake blocks to go along with three knockdowns against Florida … Did not play against Auburn.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2005)
Played in 11 games with one start … Started for first time in career against Vanderbilt … Also saw action on LSU’s field goal and PAT protection units … Saw action on 160 snaps from scrimmage, which included a career-best 39 against Vanderbilt and 25 against Mississippi State …. Recorded one pancake and 25 knockdowns … Did not allow a sack and gave up just two quarterback pressures.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2004)
Played in two games for the Tigers … Granted a medical redshirt … Saw action on 13 snaps against Arkansas State and then played 29 snaps in a win over Mississippi State … Missed all of fall camp after getting an infection from a spider bite.

HIGH SCHOOL
One of the most sought after offensive lineman in the nation … Graded out at 88 percent at tackle and did not allow an entire sack his senior season … Shined in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in December of 2003 … Coached by Gary Fischer.

PERSONAL
Full name is Herman Johnson III … Parents are the late Herman Johnson and Karen Johnson … Born Jan. 29, 1985, in West Monroe … Weighed 15 pounds and 14 ounces at birth … Is listed as one of the biggest babies on record to be born in the state of Louisiana … Story goes that the doctor who delivered Herman told his mom at the time that he was a future LSU Tiger … To this day, the doctor who delivered Herman calls Herman’s mom each year letting her know that no other baby has broken her record and that her baby is still the largest ever born in the state of Louisiana … Nicknamed “the House” … Graduated in December of 2008 with a degree in general studies … Has lost what is comparable to a first grader (50 pounds) since coming to Baton Rouge … Weighed close to 400 pounds when he signed with the Tigers in the spring of 2005 … Lists fishing and cleaning as what he likes to do in his spare time.
