CAREER
One of the most successful quarterbacks in LSU history, finishing his career with a record of 27-11, giving him the second most victories by an LSU starting quarterback … Finished his career as the school’s all-time fifth-leading passer with 5,876 yards … One of only five quarterbacks in LSU history with more than 5,000 career passing yards … Rushed for 23 touchdowns in his career, tops in LSU history among quarterbacks … Took over role as starting quarterback midway through his freshman season and never relinquished his position … Led LSU to victory in four games in 1995, 10 games his sophomore season, nine his junior year and four his senior year … Ranked 3rd in SEC passing efficiency behind Florida’s Danny Wuerffel and Tennessee’s Peyton Manning as a sophomore and 3rd his junior year behind Kentucky’s Tim Couch and Tennessee’s Tee Martin … When senior quarterback Jamie Howard suffered a shoulder injury midseason of 1995, Tyler was called upon to lead the Tigers offense and led LSU to wins in all four of his starts … Earned a place on the Freshman All-SEC Team … Played in 1998 Blue-Gray Classic following his senior season.

SENIOR SEASON (1998)
Started 10 games, missing only the season finale at Arkansas due to injury … Finished No.3 in the SEC in passing efficiency … Completed 153 of 250 passes for 2,018 yards … Completed 61.2 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions … His 18 touchdowns were thrown to six different players … Accounted for 25 of LSU’s 41 offensive touchdowns (18 passing and seven rushing), breaking the old record of 24 set by Tommy Hodson … Became only the third quarterback in LSU history to surpass the 2,000-yard mark in a single season … Posted a pass efficiency rating of 147.16 … Highest yardage game of 269 vs. Kentucky as he completed 15 of 26 passes for two touchdowns … Responsible for five games of over 200 yards passing: 269 vs. Kentucky, 234 at Florida, 214 vs. Alabama, 207 vs. Idaho and 205 vs. Georgia … Threw for at least one touchdown in every game that he played … Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week following the victory at Auburn … Racked up the third most yards on the ground on the team carrying 85 times for 182 yards and seven touchdowns … Rushed for three touchdowns vs. Kentucky becoming only the fifth quarterback in LSU history to rush for three touchdowns in one game and the first to do it against an SEC team … Completed 15 of 31 passes for 234 yards and a touchdown against Florida and was named ESPN Player of the Game.

JUNIOR SEASON (1997)
Started all 11 games and the Independence Bowl at quarterback in 1997 … Completed 127 of 209 passes for 1,581 yards and 10 touchdowns with seven interceptions … Rushed for 279 yards on 96 carriers with seven touchdowns and was the Tiger’s fourth leading rusher … In one of his best games, he completed 15 of 20 passes for 213 yards and one TD in 63-28 win at Kentucky … Despite not throwing a TD pass in win over Florida, Tyler rushed for two TDs while completing 10 of 17 passes in the upset victory … Had a superb season opener against UTEP, completing 14 of 17 passes for 211 yards and a TD, the highest completion percentage for an SEC quarterback on the season … Completed 11 of 17 passes for 116 yards and a TD in win over Mississippi State … Completed 9 of 10 passes for 148 yards and four TDs in only one half of play against Akron … Four touchdowns matched the school record in a contest … Rushed for 101 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown run, the longest by a Tiger quarterback in the modern era against Ole Miss … Hit on 17 of 30 passes for 167 in the Independence Bowl victory over Notre Dame.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (1996)
Started every game at QB in the 1996 season … No.3 QB passing efficiency in the SEC behind Florida’s Danny Wuerffel and Tennessee’s Peyton Manning as a sophomore … Completed 109 of 189 passes for 1,688 yards and seven TDs … Tied the school record for rushing TDs by a quarterback with seven … Played one of the best games in his career against Ole Miss: 13 of 20 passing for 255 yards and ran for two TDs … Named LSU’s Offensive MVP in the Peach Bowl, hitting 14 of 21 passes for 163 yards while rushing for 38 yards on 12 carries … Posted two games of over 200-yards: 255 at Ole Miss and 215 yards at Florida … Hit on 11 of 19 passes for 191 yards and a TD in win at Arkansas in the season finale … Completed 10 of 17 passes for 111 yards and a TD against Tulane and rushed for two more TDs … Connected on 11 of 18 for 144 yards in win vs. Kentucky … In win against Kentucky, became first LSU quarterback in 13 seasons to rush for two TDs in one game … Completed 11 of 17 for 165 yards and 2 TDs in win over Vanderbilt.

FRESHMAN SEASON (1995)
A late-season success story for LSU … New Orleans native stepped forward when starter Jamie Howard was sidelined with a shoulder injury and promptly led the Tigers to three victories, including the final two of the regular season that placed LSU in the Independence Bowl and clinched a winning season … Despite playing in only four games he was named the Knoxville News Sentinel’s Freshman All-SEC Team … Started three regular season games an the bowl game, all LSU victories; vs. North Texas, vs. Ole Miss, vs. Arkansas and vs. Michigan State in the Independence Bowl … Also saw backup action at Alabama … On the year he completed 45 of 69 passes for 589 yards and five TDs … Also rushed for two TDs … In his first collegiate start in a 49-7 victory over North Texas he completed 19 of 26 passes for 208 yards and two TDs and ran for another TD … Completed 13 of 23 passes for 190 yards and two TDs against Ole Miss … Also rushed for 43 yards and scored on a five yard run in the Ole Miss contest … Connected on 12 of 17 passes for 188 yards and a TD in season finale against Arkansas … Completed 10 of 20 passes for 164 yards and a TD in Independence Bowl victory
