CAREER
One of the most outstanding student-athletes in LSU football history … First Team All-American in 2002 as well as being named a National Scholar-Athlete by the National Football Foundation … Will graduate in May with a degree in criminology … Ranked second in LSU history in career tackles with 418, which includes 32 tackles for losses … Set the LSU single-season tackle record with 154 in 2002, breaking the mark of 150 set by Al Richardson in 1981 … Played in 46 games with 34 starts at linebacker … Had 11 sacks and one pass interception … Two-time First Team All-SEC pick as well as being a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2001 … LSU team captain in 2002 … Played first three seasons at Will linebacker before moving to Mike linebacker as a senior.

The leader of LSU’s James Gang defense … A First Team All-America selection at linebacker by the American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News and CBS Sportsline … One of only 14 players from all NCAA divisions selected as a National Scholar-Athlete this year … Starter in all 13 games at Mike linebacker … Leader of the LSU defense that ranked eighth in the nation in total defense (286.8 yards per game) and second nationally in pass defense (152.7 yards per game) … Led LSU and ranked among the SEC leaders with a school-record 154 tackles … Had 18 tackles or more three times in 2002, including 19 vs. Virginia Tech in the season-opener and 18 vs. The Citadel and Arkansas … Had double-figure tackles in eight of LSU’s 13 games and six of eight SEC contests … Intercepted first pass of career against Miami (Ohio) … Had 9.5 TFL and three sacks … Added 18 quarterback pressures … Forced one fumble and broke up a pair of passes … Semifinalist for both the Butkus and Lombardi Awards in 2002 … Entered the 2002 rated as the nation’s No. 2 linebacker by The Sporting News … A pre-season Playboy All-American … Team Captain.

JUNIOR SEASON (2001)
Teamed with Trev Faulk to give LSU one of the best 1-2 punches at linebacker around … Second on the team with 113 tackles, including a team-high 78 solo … Played in all 13 games with 12 starts … Capped junior season with back-to-back outstanding games … Had eight tackles, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries in win over Illinois in the Sugar Bowl … Played a dominating game vs. Tennessee in the SEC Championship contest as he recorded 10 tackles and was instrumental in holding the Vols to just 50 yards rushing … During the regular-season, had three sacks for minus-4 yards … Recorded seven tackles, including two for losses vs. Auburn … Had 11 tackles, including one sack and two tackles for losses vs. Arkansas … Had a 14-tackle performance vs. Alabama, 13 of which were solo stops … Forced one fumble and had nine QB pressures in 2001 … Had season-best 16 tackles vs. Tennessee … Had 12 tackles vs. Utah State and 10 vs. Florida … Nominee for the Butkus Award at the beginning of the season.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2000)
Played in all 12 games with 11 starts … Finished second on the squad and third in the SEC with 110 total tackles (56 solo) … Led LSU with five sacks, which totaled minus 25 yards … Recorded double-figure tackles five times during the regular-season – career-high 17 vs. Tennessee and Kentucky, 11 vs. Auburn, 10 vs. UAB and Houston … Played perhaps the best game of collegiate career vs. Georgia Tech in the Peach Bowl as he registered six tackles, two for losses, one sack and recovered a pair of fumbles in the 28-14 Tiger victory … Played in Peach Bowl despite not joining the team until the day before the game due to the death of his father … Named Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Peach Bowl for his efforts … Had a pair of sacks in 34-0 win over Kentucky … Started first game of career vs. Western Carolina in season-opener … Only game in which he didn’t start came against Houston when Tigers opened the contest in a dime package … He entered the game on the second play from scrimmage.

FRESHMAN SEASON (1999)
A major contributor on the Tigers’ defense … Played all but one game for the Tigers … Was the third linebacker in a two-man rotation … A key player on special teams … Finished with 41 tackles, including seven for losses of minus 36 yards, three sacks for minus 28 yards, three quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception … One of two Tiger defenders to register a stat in seven different defensive categories … Had a career-high nine tackles against Auburn, including one for a loss of one yard … Best all-around performance was at Georgia where he made six stops, including a sack for minus 15 yards on elusive Quincy Carter, one pass breakup and a fumble recovery …Was named Coaches’ SEC All-Freshman Team and the Knoxville News-Sentinel SEC All-Freshman Team.
