Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore played collegiate tennis at Middle Tennessee State University (2015-2019). During his career, his highest rankings were No. 85 in the ITA national singles rankings and No. 50 in the ITA doubles rankings. In 2018, he was the ITA Finalist of the Ohio Valley Region, defeating the No. 7 in the singles player in the nation in the Round of 16’s. Morell was the first Blue Raider singles player since Daniel Klemetz (2002) to advance to the ITA Fall Nationals. In 2019, Morell led MTSA to a Conference USA title for the first time in history.

Morell is top-10 in career singles wins at MTSU (78, 10th), career doubles wins (79, T-7th), career combined wins (158, 7th), and doubles winning percentage (64.7%, 9th) in program history.

In 2019, Morell was awarded the MTSU True Blue Award given by the President of the university. It is the highest honor for MTSU current student-athletes as it recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments, university/community service, and overall leadership.

Morell’s accomplishments at MTSU are as followed: 2016 All C-USA First Team Singles, 2017 and 2018 All C-USA Second Team Singles, 2016 and 2017 All C-USA First Team Doubles, 2018 All C-USA Second Team Doubles, 2016, 2017 and 2018 C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, 2016, 2017 and 2018 C-USA Academic Medal, 2016 and 2017 ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 2019 Outstanding Doubles Team of the C-USA Championship.

Morell earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2019 from Middle Tennessee State University with magna cum laude honors and is currently working towards his MBA at LSU.

Morell has worked as an assistant pro at Ferrer Tennis Academy in Lloyd Neck Bath Club, NY, and Piping Rock Club, NY. In 2019, he was named one of the Directors of the Ferrer Tennis Academy. He was the hitting partner of David Ferrer and part of his team.
