BATON ROUGE – Both the beach and indoor volleyball teams at LSU earned the U.S. Marine Corps AVCA Team Academic Award for exceptional performance in the classroom over the past academic year.
The AVCA Team Academic Award was founded in 1992-93 to celebrate the scholastic achievement of maintaining a 3.30 grade point average throughout the entire academic year on a 4.0 scale.
Despite the adversity throughout the past year, attending classes via zoom, both the LSU beach volleyball and indoor volleyball programs had great success in the classroom. The beach program finished the 2020-21 academic year with a 3.411 cumulative GPA and the indoor squad had a 3.208 cumulative GPA for the year.
