Men's Tennis Inks Graduate Transfer Vlad Lobak
BATON ROUGE— The LSU men's tennis team officially announced the signing of Minnesota transfer Vlad Lobak Monday morning. Lobak is a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play in the upcoming 2021-22 season.
BATON ROUGE— The LSU men’s tennis team officially announced the signing of Minnesota transfer Vlad Lobak Wednesday morning. Lobak is a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play in the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The Kiev, Ukraine native has spent his last four seasons at the University of Minnesota. Lobak has secured 53 singles victories and 35 doubles victories in his time as a Gopher. During the 2020-21 season, Lobak reached a career-high of No. 4 in the ITA doubles rankings. He entered the 2021 NCAA Doubles Tournament as an at-large bid and earned All-American status with a victory over the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed Finn Reynolds/Tim Sandkaulen (Ole Miss). In the classroom, Lobak has been named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team twice.
Prior to his days at Minnesota, Lobak attended Gymnasium 32 ‘USPIKH’. He was ranked first in Ukraine for the U12, U14, and U16 age groups and reached an ITF ranking of 150 before college. Lobak represented his home nation by playing for the Ukrainian National Team.
Lobak joins Gabriel Diaz Freire as the second graduate transfer to join the LSU men’s tennis team this offseason.
