Kloth and Nuss Named to USAV Collegiate Beach National Team

BATON ROUGE – On the eve of their first professional tournament together, Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss have earned a spot on the 2021 USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate National Team.

The team features 13 men and 13 women that will attend a training block in Huntington Beach, Calif. From June 21-26. Kloth and Nuss were both selected to the USAV Beach Collegiate National team and prior to that, Nuss was on the team in 2018 and 2019.

Earlier this spring, Kloth and Nuss completed one of the most dominant college beach volleyball seasons ever by a pair, going 36-0 and winning 32 matches in straight sets. They were named the National Pair of the Year by both the AVCA and VolleyballMag. The duo announced last month that they will play professional beach volleyball as a pair.

Their first official professional event will be in LSU’s backyard at Coconut Beach in Kenner, Louisiana. The bracket for the AVPNext Gold Tour tournament is expected to be released this afternoon.

LSU will be well represented at Coconut Beach with five pairs featuring current or former Tigers set to participate in the tournament which is part of Louisiana Beach Week. Along with Kloth and Nuss, Olivia Beyer and Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope, Kahlee York and Toni Rodriguez, Grace Seits and Sydney Moore plus Hailey Cabeceiras and Hannah Brister will all pair up for the event that will run Saturday and Sunday. Kelli Greene-Agnew and Katie Dickens are also in the tournament and are paired up with two non-LSU players.
