Baton Rouge, La. – Lindsi Jennings, a native of Aurora, Colorado, has signed on with the LSU soccer program after transferring from the University of Northern Colorado, LSU soccer head coach Sian Hudson released on Tuesday afternoon.
“We are incredibly excited about the addition of Lindsi to our team,” Hudson said. “As a player, she is a versatile defender who can play in a central or wide position. She is a strong 1v1 defender, with great recovery speed. Simply put, she is hard to beat. On the attacking side of the ball, she has a wonderful passing range, coupled with the ability to drive forward and beat players on the dribble.”
Jennings comes to Baton Rouge after three years of being a key piece for the University of Northern Colorado. Over three years, she played 51 games for the Bears and started all but one of them. She has nine clean sheets as a starter and tallied one goal and two assists.
The best moment for Jennings’ time at Northern Colorado came in the 2019 Big Sky Conference Tournament, where she started and played every minute in defense as the Bears won their first two matches 2-1 and capped it off with a 1-0 shutout over Eastern Washington in the championship to claim their second ever conference tournament title.
Jennings was named Second Team All-Big Sky all three years and was the 2018 Big Sky Co-Newcomer of the Year. She finished her final season as a Bear with a team-high 656 minutes played and was named the 2021 Big Sky Co-Defensive MVP for her efforts.
“She was a pivotal player, person and captain for a very competitive and conference winning University of Northern Colorado side,” Hudson said. “She will give everything to the team, the Tiger fans are going to enjoy watching her play and compete!”
