Baton Rouge, La.  –  The NCAA postseason is upon the LSU track and field program and both the women’s and men’s teams remain as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association ratings index that was released on Tuesday.

Baton Rouge, La.  –  The NCAA postseason is upon the LSU track and field program and both the women’s and men’s teams remain as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association ratings index that was released on Tuesday.

LSU has 26 marks, including eight NCAA leads, that rank inside the top 10 of the NCAA descending order lists. In order to score at the NCAA championship meet, an athlete must finish in the top eight of her or his event. This marks the ninth straight week that the LSU women have been ranked No. 1 in the nation, and for the men it’s the eighth time in the last nine weeks.

The NCAA East Preliminaries begin on Wednesday and run through Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.
