Baton Rouge, La.  Trey Winstead (business) and Carter Toms (MBA) of the LSU men’s golf team both are set to earn their respective degrees from LSU this weekend.

Winstead has laced up the spikes and played golf for LSU dating back to the 2017-18 season. He’s 100 rounds on the dot for LSU and has a career average of 72.31 strokes per round. He has 11 top-10 finishes to his name which ranks tied for the 18th most in LSU history. He’s won two tournaments in college, the 2018 and 2019 David Toms Intercollegiate, and 82 of his 100 rounds played have counted towards LSU’s team scores. The lowest rounds of his collegiate career in relation to par are 7-under 65s, both of which came at the 2019 David Toms Intercollegiate at Southern Trace Country Club. He earned PING all-region honors after the conclusion of the 2019 season and was named to the 2017-18 SEC All-Freshman Team.

Toms played for the LSU men’s golf team from 2016 through the end of the 2019 season. He played 22 collegiate rounds and fired a low score of 2-under 68 during round two of the 2018 Maui Jim Intercollegiate. A 3x SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll member, Toms initially graduated with a degree from LSU in finance in the summer of 2019. Over the past two years he’s pursued his master’s in business in which he will graduate with on Saturday.
