In the men’s hammer throw, Jake Norris and Jon Nerdal took the top two collegiate spots in the event with throws of 231′ 4.75″ (70.53 meters) and 230′ 9.75″ (70.35 meters), respectively. The only athlete to better those two was LSU alumni Johnnie Jackson who won the event with a throw of 237′ 1.75″ (72.28 meters).
