Baton Rouge, La.  –  The LSU track and field program remains at the top of the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association ratings index with the No. 1 women’s and men’s teams in the country.

The marks week No. 4 in a row that the women have been in the top spot, and it is the third time in the last four weeks the men have been on top.

LSU had four athletes improve or register top 10 NCAA marks over the weekend at the Boots Garland Invitational. Favour Ofili ran a wind-aided time of 22.30 in the 200 meters to move into the top spot in the NCAA, and sprinter Terrance Laird the fastest wind legal time of his career, a 10.06, to rank No. 3 in the NCAA.

In the hurdles, Milan Young and Sean ‘Squirrel’ Burrell registered personal bests in their respective events. Young ran a 12.95 in the 100 meter hurdles to win her event and Burrell circled the track once in the 400 meter hurdles (50.15) to win his race. Both of those times for Young and Burrell rank No. 7 in the NCAA.

LSU has a total of 26 NCAA top 10 marks currently and the additional 22 can be viewed below.

LSU will host the Alumni Gold meet this Friday and Saturday at Bernie Moore Track Stadium. A meet schedule can be viewed at lsusports.net.
