Men's Tennis Returns Home to Face No. 11 Georgia

Baton Rouge—The No. 40 LSU men’s tennis team returns to the LSU Tennis Complex to take on No. 11 Georgia on Sunday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m.

Before the match, the Tigers will honor its senior student-athletes, Malik Bhatnagar, Joey Thomas, and Rafael Wagner, in a ceremony at the center courts.

In compliance with COVID-19 protocols, matches at the LSU Tennis Complex will be limited to 800 people for outdoor matches. Indoor matches are limited to a players’ list and 50 spots available for the general public on a first come, first serve basis. Attending fans at the LSU Tennis Complex must remained masked up and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

LSU currently sits at 11-10 and 3-7 in SEC play. The Tigers are 10th in the SEC with two matches to go.

Scouting the Bulldogs

No. 10 Georgia is 13-5 on the season and 7-4 in SEC play. The Bulldogs are riding a five-game win streak heading into Baton Rouge, featuring wins over No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 21 UCF. They’re led by longtime head coach, Manuel Diaz. Diaz has been at the helm for 32 seasons at Georgia and has amassed 709 victories, the most all-time in the SEC.

The Bulldogs lineup includes three ranked singles players and two ranked duos. No. 21 Trent Bryde leads the pack along with No. 25 Phillip Henning and No. 89 Tyler Zink. No. 6 Trent Bryde and Tyler Zink are 12-4 on the season, while No. 48 Billy Rowe and Blake Croyder are 9-3.
