Rangel Runs Fourth Fastest 1,500 Meter Race In LSU History

Tuscaloosa, Ala.  –  Freshman Lorena Rangel ran the fourth fastest time in LSU history in the 1,500 meters on Friday night at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium with a personal best of 4:19.98; that time earned her a fifth place finish in the event.

Rangel earned the fifth place finish in a field of 51 competitors and was the top finisher from LSU’s three runners. Katy-Ann McDonald took ninth with a time of 4:25.95 and Shanya Luna placed 24th overall with a readout of 4:39.30.

The men’s distance crew had three runners in the 1,500 meters as well. Davis Bove earned silver in the event with a personal best time of 3:46.84. Eric Coston followed with a time of 3:54.90 for 12th place and Adam Wise place 28th in a time of 3:59.12.
