Baton Rouge, La. – LSU senior Tonea Marshall made career appearance No. 5 on The Bowerman Watch List Wednesday afternoon.
It marks her fifth straight appearance on the list that honors the top 10 collegiate track and field athletes throughout the entirety of the indoor/outdoor season. Her first appearance came all the way back in February of 2020 and she has been on the list ever since.
Marshall, a native of Arlington, Texas, was able to compete for LSU last weekend at the Louisiana Classics meet; it marked her first collegiate competition since February of 2020 when she won the SEC title in a meet record time of 7.89 in the 60 meter hurdles. She ran a PR of 11.55 in the 100 meter dash and competed as the lead leg of the women’s 4×100 meter relay. This weekend in her home state of Texas she will open up in her feature event, the 100 meter hurdles. Prelims will be Friday and finals will occur on Saturday.
Marshall has had several quality performances indoors in the 60 meter hurdles while competing unattached during the 2021 indoor season. Her season best time of 7.86 ranked as the fourth fastest in the world this year. She won a title at the American Track League in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with her aforementioned season best of 7.86 seconds on January 24.
