Baton Rouge, La. – Freshman LSU golfer Nicholas Arcement has been named the SEC Men’s Co-Freshman of the Week after his recent play at the Tiger Invitational this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
A native of Thibodaux, La., Arcement used a three round total of 4-under 212 to place 13th in the field of 89 players. The total of 4-under 212 marks his lowest tournament total in relation to par as a collegiate player. He carded an opening round even par 72 before firing back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70s. He totaled 11 birdies in the tournament including five in round two which matched a career high for a single round.
Arcement is averaging 72.80 strokes per round this season and all 15 of his rounds played have counted towards LSU’s team total. This marks the first SEC honor of Arcement’s career.
