LSU Heads to Tiger Invitational in Alabama

Baton Rouge, La. – The LSU men’s golf team will tee it up for the third time this spring as they travel to the Tiger Invitational. The tournament will be a 54-hole, three-day event running Monday through Wednesday at Grand National on the Lake Course in Opelika, Alabama.

Grand National will play as a par 72 at 7,289 yards. LSU will be going up against No. 16 Auburn, Alabama, UAB, No. 21 Arkansas, No. 23 Arkansas State, No. 15 Florida, No. 13 Georgia, Georgia Southern, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Alabama, South Carolina, No. 20 Tennessee, No. 6 Texas A&M, and No. 14 Vanderbilt.

LSU will go with starting five of Garrett Barber, Nicholas Arcement, Drew Doyle, Connor Gaunt, and Michael Sanders; Chris Woollam will be playing as an individual. Barber leads LSU this season with a career-best stroke average of 71.00 per round; he’s played 14 rounds and seven of those have been even par or better. This will be Sanders’ third event of the year and it’s his first time in the starting five this season. Sanders (+6/T21) and Woollam (+8/T33) were LSU’s top finishers at the LSU Invitational at the end of February.

The Tigers will be paired alongside Texas A&M and Arkansas State with hopes of playing 36 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT on Monday morning.
