BATON ROUGE – LSU women’s golfer Ingrid Lindblad has been named the SEC Newcomer of the Week for play ending on March 9.
Lindblad finished tied for third place out of 96 players at the Gamecock Intercollegiate in Columbia, South Carolina with a 2-under 214. It was her third Top-5 finish and sixth Top-10 finish of the season. She went 70-71-73 over the 54 holes.
In first round action, the sophomore from Halmstad, Sweden, shot a 2-under 70 and a 1-under 71 in the second, earning her 11th and 12th rounds of the season at or under par.
For the tournament, Lindblad was on the hunt for the individual title going into the final round.
LSU returns to action on March 19-21 for the Liz Murphey Collegiate in Athens, Georgia.
