BATON ROUGE – The LSU diving team will push forward in their championship season schedule as they hit the road for the 2021 NCAA Zone D Diving Regionals. The event will begin on Thursday March, 11 and run through Saturday March, 13 from Lexington, Kentucky and the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Tigers hit the boards was just a few weeks ago at the 2021 SEC Championships. For the men, Juan Celaya-Hernandez won the One-Meter Springboard, earned the silver on the three-meter, and finished in fourth place on platform. Celaya-Hernandez was voted Diver of the Championship because of his stellar performance.
Dakota Hurbis notched two top 25 finishes while at the SEC Championships. He finished in 16th place on one-meter and 24th on three-meter with scores of 289.30 and 275.65.
For the women, Montserrat Gutierrez Lavenant just missed out on the podium on platform as she finished in fourth place with a score of 273.80. Her fourth place finish went down as the best finish for a freshman at the championships. Anne Tuxen was the second highest scoring female at the meet as she made the final in all three events. She finished in fourth place on three-meter, fifth place on platform, and seventh place on one-meter. Hayley Montague finished in 31st place on both springboard events.
