Men’s Tennis Preps for No. 24 Ole Miss; No. 23 Mississippi State

Baton Rouge—The LSU men’s tennis team will visit Oxford, Mississippi and Starkville, Mississippi this weekend to take on No. 24 Ole Miss on Friday, March 5 at 5:00 p.m. and No. 23 Mississippi State on Sunday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m.

The Tigers are looking to bounce back from last weekend where they went 0-2 against SEC teams, falling to No. 11 Kentucky, 7-0, and No. 18 South Carolina 4-1. They did, however, defeated Nicholls on Sunday, 7-0. LSU lands at 9-4 overall and 1-3 in SEC play going into the weekend.

The Tigers were slotted at No. 38 in the March 3 ITA team rankings, a spot they’ve hovered around for the past two seasons.

Scouting Ole Miss

Ole Miss is coming off a split weekend, defeating No. 12 Georgia, 4-3, but falling to No. 3 Tennessee, 7-0. The Rebels are 3-5 on the overall season with a 2-1 conference record. They’re 1-2 against ranked opponents with their other loss coming to No. 5 TCU. The Rebs lone singles rankee is Tim Sandkaulen, who comes in at No. 62. They have a top-10 duo in No. 7 Tim Sandkaulen/Finn Reynolds.

Scouting Mississippi State

Mississippi State is looking to rebound from last weekend where they were defeated by two top-15 SEC teams in No. 3 Tennessee and No. 14 Georgia. They stand at 9-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs have two ranked with No. 36 Giovanni Oradini and No. 87 Florian Broska as well having two ranked duos with No. 28 Florian Broska/Nicolas Ocana and No. 47 Alberto Colas/Gregor Ramskoglar.
