Marshall Makes Appearance No. 4 on The Bowerman Watch List

Baton Rouge, La. – LSU track and field sprinter/hurdler Tonea Marshall was named to the Pre-NCAA indoor Championships Bowerman Watch List on Wednesday afternoon.

Marshall, a senior at LSU, has yet to compete for the Tigers in 2021 due to not having any indoor eligibility remaining. Although she has not been able to don the Purple and Gold yet, Marshall has had several quality performances indoors in the 60 meter hurdles. Her season best time of 7.86 ranks as the fourth fastest in the world and would be an NCAA leading time in the collegiate ranks. She won a title at the American Track League in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with her aforementioned season best of 7.86 seconds on January 24.

This is Marshall’s fourth-career appearance on The Bowerman Watch List and she made her debut on February 5, 2020. Marshall was the 2020 SEC champion in the 60 meter hurdles with a meet record time of 7.89 seconds. She became only the third hurdler in NCAA history to have three sub 7.90 second performances with times of 7.86, 7.89, and 7.89 a year ago.
