Columbia, S.C. – The No. 4 LSU women’s golf team is in fifth place after round two of the Gamecock Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Columbia Country Club. The Tigers shot an 8-over 286 and currently have two players in the Top-10; Kendall Griffin and Ingrid Lindblad ended round two at 2-under 142.
Griffin continues to lead the Tigers on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 2-under 142 (69-73). Her second round featured four birdies, nine pars, and five bogeys for a 1-over 73.
Ingrid Lindblad was also at 2-under 142 after two rounds with scores of 70 and 72. She eagled the par 4, 377-yard 18th hole in round two to get her round back to even par.
Sophomore Latanna Stone completed the first two rounds at 4-over 148 (73-75). Freshman Carla Tejedo Mulet (74-79) and junior Presley Baggett (76-76) are at 8-over 148 on the leaderboard.
The Tigers are playing the first half of round three Tuesday afternoon to ensure that the whole tournament can be completed with impending weather set to move in on Wednesday afternoon.
ROUND THREE UPDATE
When play ended Tuesday night, Lindblad was the low Tiger at even par for the tournament, which has her tied for ninth. Lindblad eagled the par-5, 476-yard 3rd hole and has seven holes remaining in the third round. Griffin (+1), Stone (+2), Tejedo Mulet (+2), and Bagget (+1) are currently over par in round three with eight holes remaining in round three.
As mentioned above, the plan is to get in as much of the tournament as possible beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning.
