Beach Remains at No. 1 in AVCA Poll
BATON ROUGE – After beginning its season 4-0 over the weekend in Houston, the LSU Beach Volleyball team remained at No. 1 in Monday’s AVCA Poll.
This the fourth poll in a row that the Tigers have been ranked as the nation’s top team dating back to last season. LSU has won 15 matches in a row.
For the second season in a row there will be a top-two matchup at LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium. LSU will face No. 2 Florida State at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. The Tigers will also face No. 11 FAU, No. 19 Georgia State and HBU throughout the weekend during the Tiger Beach Challenge.
All of LSU’s matches this weekend will air on Cox Sports Television.
This year LSU is not allowing the general public into matches in order to comply with public health guidelines. In order the be admitted into matches, you have to be on a pre-approved list of player or coach guests. Those on the list will be limited to sitting in the stadium seating on the South side of the facility. Despite the limited seating, every court from every match will be streamed throughout the weekend.
The last time LSU hosted a No. 1 vs. 2 matchup was last season against UCLA where there was a record crowd. The Tigers took down the top-ranked Bruins and have been ranked No. 1 ever since.
