BATON ROUGE – The LSU Gymnastics team is ranked second in the nation and will take on Florida in a showdown between the top two teams in the nation Friday night in the Maravich Center.
The Tigers own an average score of 197.144 after four meets in 2021. The Tigers have earned three, 197-plus team scores this season. LSU’s 197.550 at Auburn on Friday night ranks as the third-highest score in the nation.
As a team, the squad ranks No. 1 on floor, No. 4 on beam and bars, and No. 7 on vault.
Individually, freshman Haleigh Bryant and sophomore Alyona Shchennikova rank fourth and fifth in the all-around. Senior Sami Durante owns a top-10 ranking on bars. Kiya Johnson is first and Bryant is fourth on floor.
The top meet in the nation in 2021 will be televised on the SEC Network. Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson Clarke will be on the call. All tickets through LSU have been purchased, but fans are encouraged to visit Stub Hub, LSU’s official ticket marketplace.
