Stone Takes Top Finish at Orlando Amateur

ORLANDO – LSU sophomore Latanna Stone finished 5-under to take the top spot at the 2021 Orlando International Amateur, Tuesday at the Orange Country National Golf Center and Lodge.

Stone, who grew up just an hour and a half away in Riverview, Florida, beat out the field of more than 100 in the three-day tournament. Stone ended her final round with a 1-over 73 to just edge out Haeley Wotonosky of the University of Virginia.

This marks the end of a busy winter break for Stone who also represented the United States at the Arnold Palmer Cup in December. Stone defeated USC’s Gabriela Ruffels, the 2019 U.W. Women’s Amateur and 2020 U.S. Women’s Amateur runner up, at the Palmer Cup.

Stone and the rest of the Tigers will return to Baton Rouge to train for the 2021 spring schedule, which kicks off Feb. 14-16 at the Moon Golf Invitational at the Duran Golf Club.
