Women’s Basketball Plays Pacific & LMU In Vegas

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s basketball team will play Pacific and Loyola Marymount in the Duel in the Desert tournament in Las Vegas on Dec. 19 and 20. The Tigers will face Pacific on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT and LMU on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT. All games will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV.

The game will be broadcast on FloHoops.com with Ben Wilson calling the games. A link to the game is available on LSUsports.net.

The games will also be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and locally in Baton Rouge on 107.3 FM. Voice of the Lady Tigers Patrick Wright, in his 31st season, will be on the call from courtside in the PMAC. A links to live stats is available at LSUsports.net.

LSU Preview

LSU is 1-3 to start the season following Monday’s 62-57 win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Redshirt senior Faustine Aifuwa recorded the 11th double-double of her career with a team-leading 15 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Domonique Davis and junior Sarah Shematsi made the first starts of their LSU careers against the Cajuns. Davis posted a career-high 13 points.

Aifuwa and senior Khayla Pointer are averaging 10.3 points per game each to lead the team. Aifuwa also leads the squad with 9.0 rebounds per game and nine blocked shots, while Pointer leads the team with 15 assists and 13 steals. Pointer is currently 25 points away (975) from becoming LSU’s 34th 1,000-point career scorer.

The Opponents – Pacific and Loyola Marymount

This will be the second meeting between LSU and Pacific. LSU won the first meeting, 88-58, on a road trip to California on Dec. 30, 1988. It will be the first meeting between LSU and LMU.

Season and Single Ticket Sales Information

For the 2020-21 season, seating for LSU women’s basketball games will be general admission in the PMAC. Seating has been reconfigured to support physically-distanced seating. Available seats will be spaced out in blocks of 2, 3 and 4 seats in order maximize attendance opportunities. Fans will be allowed to sit in any seat that is marked as available. Sections 112 and 115 are reserved for player guests.
