Volleyball’s Stokes Earns LSU Master’s Degree

BATON ROUGE – Milan Stokes of LSU Volleyball earned her Master’s Degree from LSU’s School of Leadership and Human Resource Development on Friday after speaking to her 21 fellow student-athlete graduates Thursday evening at The Tribute.

“Knowing all that we’ve done – regardless of where we’ve come from, where we’ve fallen or where we’ve found ourselves again – we are Tigers,” Stokes said at The Tribute. “We prowl, we hunt and we seize our opportunities.”

Stokes played for the Tigers from 2016-19 and amassed 320 kills in her career. Away from volleyball, Stokes had great success in the classroom.

The Long Beach, California native was a Cum Laude graduate in English at LSU in the Spring of 2019, Stokes was featured on the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll in 2016 and the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2017 and 2018. Returning to LSU in the Fall of 2019 for her senior season, Stokes immediately began working towards her Masters Degree.

Stokes also participated in the SEC Career Tour last December which provides exposure to student-athletes in the Southeastern Conference who are seeking career opportunities throughout various fields.

Now with two LSU degrees Stokes says she will look to begin her career as she continues to work on her novel manuscript.
