Womens Tennis' Lewis Earns Bachelor's Degree

BATON ROUGE – LSU Womens Tennis’ Jade Lewis earned her bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration from the LSU College of Human Sciences and Education on Friday.

In her lone season in Purple & Gold in 2016-17, Lewis had one of the most prolific seasons in program history. Lewis finished the season with a 17-7 singles record playing primarily at the No. 1 spot. She earned eleven wins over ranked opponents, including the highest-ranked win by a freshman in school history over No. 4 Astra Sharma of Vanderbilt in a 6-4, 6-2 straight set win.

Lewis’ decorative season saw her become second player in program history to be ranked in the Top 10 of the ITA/Oracle Singles Rankings when she peaked at No. 10 before her season ended in the second round of the NCAA Singles Tournament. Lewis’ efforts saw her earn first team spots on the All-SEC and All-Louisiana teams alongside individual accolades such as SEC Co-Freshman of the Year, ITA Rookie of the Year, and ITA Singles All-American before she declared pro.
