Lindblad, Sagstrom Earn Top-30 Finishes at U.S. Open

HOUSTON – LSU women’s golf sophomore Ingrid Lindblad and alumna Madelene Sagstrom finished 30th overall at the 75th United States Women’s Open, Monday at the Cypress Creek Course at Champions Golf Club.

Sagstrom and Lindblad wrapped up the tournament at 8-over 292 after final round scores of 4-over 75 and six-over 77. Lindblad finished fifth among 24 amateurs in the field. It marked Lindblad’s highest finish at a major championship.

“Ingrid played great in her first U.S. Women’s Open,” LSU women’s golf head coach Garrett Runion said. “She represented herself, her family and LSU exceptionally well. We are very proud she is a Tiger, and this experience can only help her and our team when we start playing tournaments again.”

LSU sophomore Latanna Stone and Lindblad will compete at the Arnold Palmer Cup Dec. 21-23 at Bay Hill Club and Lodge. Stone will represent the United States and Lindblad will compete on the international team. They mark the first LSU women’s golfers to compete on a Palmer Cup team.
