Lindblad Shoots 1-Over in Opening Round of U.S. Open

HOUSTON – LSU women’s golfer Ingrid Lindblad opened the 75th United States Women’s Open with a 1-over 72 to sit at 37th overall Thursday at Cypress Creek Course. 

Lindblad opened the tournament with nine straight pars before a birdie at the 10th. The sophomore birdied 12 and drained a long putt for birdie on 13. She’ll tee off the second round at 10:01 a.m. CT Friday at the Jackrabbit Course at Champions Golf Club. 
 

LSU women’s golf alumnae Madelene Sagstrom and Austin Ernst finished the first round at 4-over 75 and 3-over 74 respectively. The former Tigers will play their second rounds at Cypress Creek Course. Ernst will tee off at 9:28 a.m. followed by Sagstrom at 9:50 a.m. 

Friday’s coverage will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Peacock with coverage continuing until 5 p.m. on Golf Channel.
